LEvy survey (2)

Last chance - make your voice heard ⤵️

You’re the reason we do what we do -  but we can’t get it right without your input. So if you haven't already, now's the time to have your say.

You don't have to be a levy expert to give your feedback. We want to understand what you already know about the levy, what you want to know, and how we can best communicate that to you.

Our comms survey takes under 5 minutes. It’s anonymous, and it’s your chance to shape what comes next.

From pests to prevention: take control with BioSecure HACCP

Looking to move from reactive fixes to proactive pest management? BioSecure HACCP might

be the next step for your business.

The certification supports structured pest monitoring and cleaner systems - helping you prevent pest problems before they start.

For production nurseries like Cameron’s in NSW and Dracaena Farm in Queensland, the results are clear: stronger crops, lower costs and fewer chemicals.

Orchid virus square

Orchid viruses: what you should know

Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) and Cymbidium mosaic virus (CymMV) are the most common orchid viruses, easily spread through contact, tools or brushing plants.

There’s no cure once infected, so prevention is vital. You should:

  • use virus-tested stock from trusted suppliers
  • remove and destroy plants showing symptoms
  • thoroughly clean tools and surfaces - 10% bleach works if debris is cleared first.

All production nurseries can access six free virus tests until the end of 2025.

Suspect infection? Submit samples to Grow Help Australia or contact your local GIA Extension Officer.

Banana freckle management

The Banana Freckle National Management Group has officially endorsed a move from eradication to long-term management, to safeguard growers, regional jobs and supply

The focus is now on containment, with early detection, strict on-farm biosecurity and disease-free planting material seen as they key to limiting the spread.

Growers are being urged to stay alert, report symptoms early and maintain strong biosecurity practices on farm.
